Jambiani Village
.
The local school teachers explain to us the programme.
Listening from left to right: Arthur and Cornelia
.
.
The Malaria Control Programme in Jambiani was initiated in 2000 by villagers themselves through a Health Committee under an informal group which later turned a non-governmental organisation called TUISHI in collaboration with Dr. Christopher Zink from Switserland. The number of malaria victims have been strongly reduced.
.
.
.
We are invited in one of the houses of the village to see that they use treated anti-malaria nets. Most of these houses are made of land coral.
.
Highly impressed by the work of these dedicated school teachers, we say goodbye.
.
It's because of them that our world will be malaria-FREE in the future!
.
Returning home, we see women drying seaweed. Surreal images.
